Time To Start Working Out

So, I don't know if I've talked about fitness on here before but I think it's time I dedicate myself to something that will benefit not only my body but my mind as well.

I've told myself time and time again that I'm going to start working out again. I want to start running, doing yoga, doing workouts at home, eating healthy, etc. but I never actually commit to it. I have a hard time committing to pretty much everything. Work, school, eating well, working out, and pretty much whatever I want. I don't know if it's because I'm lazy or because I just don't care but we can all agree, I need to change that. I know I won't get anywhere in life with such a negative mentality. So, wanna join me?

My only goal is to do some form of physical activity everyday day. Either go running, do yoga, or anything I feel like doing for the day. I don't want to limit myself to just one thing because that's what really turns me off. I also believe that doing several forms of physical activities will motivate me to want to be active everyday.

Running

For running, I want to run for at least 30 minutes. For now I just want to go for time, not distance. Sure, it would feel great to say, "Yeah I ran three miles today!" but that's not what's important. I'll map my run but just so I know how long I ran and to keep track of how I felt durning that particular run. I'm also going to track the entire run and not pause while I take breaks. That'll motivate me to go on more consistent runs.

Some great running apps include; Runkeeper, Nike+ Run Club App, Strava, and a bunch others! Just search your phones app store and pick whichever looks cool to you.

Yoga

Caitlin Shoemaker (@fromybowl) suggested this great yoga playlist on YouTube that I think more people should check out. It's called Yoga Fix 90 and I'm really pumped to try it out! Let me know if you're doing it too!

You can also check out Yoga with Adriene, BananaBlondie108, TaraStiles, and a bunch others!

At Home Workouts

When I was in high school I was really into Cassey Ho's YouTube videos and I'd do them all the time but since falling off the workout wagon I haven't done them in ages! They're super challenging but really fun. Plus it doesn't hurt that Cassey is super fun and upbeat!

You can also check out Tone it Up, Zuzka Light, or any other YouTube fitness instructors you'd like!

I persoanlly hate going to the gym and I find lifting weights so boring but if that's what you're into, go for it!
I'm also thinking about starting a fitness journal/diary/log thing here on Elleplants.com. What do you think? Would that be interesting? I don't know if that would help me stay on track of my progress but it probably wouldn't hurt. I do have a fitness Tumblr but I don't use it much and I don't know if I want to share it on here since it's really not that interesting. If I start updating it I'll post the link.

I tried starting a fitness log on here before but I was lazy and didn't keep up with the workouts so I stopped logging before I even posted my first one!

Thoughts?

I'll update on this soon!

xo,
Dany
